Money money money money..... MOOONEEEY!

This website is really interesting to me. It's a blog by some guy who, I don't think, ever espouses to be some kind of financial guru, but if you read his story (top of the page... 'my story'), he had a very tough time of it and got out of some deep financial ruin. It was all his own fault and spending, and he admits that, and he has good suggestions for people, it seems. Some of the people who write in are wackos, but that's everywhere.

I know Dave likes the financial sites, and he and I are almost to the point where we're actually going to have an income, as opposed to student-level pay scales we've had for the past ten years.

Thoughts from you two (or others) on savings/spendings/financial stuff and how you're going about setting up security for later?

This guy has a good story. I really like Dave Ramsey for this same reason. I feel like without some of his advice, I would be less well off than I am now. Luckily, i have never really had enough money to lose too much. Glad I got some good advice before a good salary.

By the way, thanks for posting a link to the "financial responsibility" blog on the day I deposit my Economic Stimulus Check and bid on a Wii on eBay. Makes me feel really good about myself.

I like this guy's story, but I disagree with a lot of his comments about "only very lazy or VERY unlucky people work for minimum wage", etc. I mostly go for the ideas on saving money... websites for coupons, how to trade books for other books, etc.

I have a very nice copy of Freakonomics that I'll sell to either of you for cheap, by the way.
