K. and I are heading to Wisconsin this afternoon. Morningstar is closing up shop at 3. Hopefully we won't get stuck in gridlock, but it is likely, as many Chicagoans own or rent summer homes in WI.
The place we're going is the gaily named Snug Harbor Cottages in Sturgeon Bay. It's way the hell up there on Lake Michigan, just across from the pinky finger of the mitten that is the state of Michigan.
Should be fun. I've been to Lake Geneva, WI, with K. once, but that was for New Year's, so I didn't experience the summer fun.
I know Dave will be donning his captain's hat for the 4th. What's up in the Roch?

The ROC will be beefin' it up, of course!
Steaks, corn and asparagus on the grill for dinner, and then fireworks all over town. Later, a concert by a local band (The Revelers), whose drummer grew up with S. They're very cool... check them out. I'll try to get a CD and rip/burn it for you two, as I think you'd really dig their stuff. Find them on MySpace.
so weird how it leaves the "comment deleted" after I deleted it... I put the link to their myspace, but it ran long across and you couldn't copy it over. someone know if you can do hyperlinks in comments? i don't know the HTML tag to do that, offhand.
also, did you two grow up with the radio segment "Earl Pitts"? it was always on the country radio station at 7:30am, so I heard it while riding to catch the school bus, and he always signed off, "Wake up, Amurrica!" so dumb too... it was a very spoofy bit.
I tried to use an HTML tag for a URL, but it was not accepted, so it looks like hyperlinks are out.
Also, I totally remember Earl Pitts. Didn't he also sign off with "Pitts Off!"
I kind of liked him. Maybe his stuff is on YouTube.
Oh yes, he's on there.
